When storing an unfinished quilt top, the raw edges of the quilt blocks, sashing, or borders can be exposed, and those unprotected edges can easily unravel. To protect the exposed stitching simply fold your quilt top with the right side facing out.
If you place your cutting mat on the corner of your cutting table, then you can rotate your body instead of the block to cut all sides of a block when trimming.
Need to mend an old quilt? Make a color copy of the section of the fabric that needs replacing in the quilt on your scanner/copier. Then, transfer that printed copy to fabric using printable fabric sheets. The resulting fabric will be faded like the original and blend right in.
